Drumming and Singing circle
July 31 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
| 30€Drumming and Chanting Circle
Join Us on Sunday 31st of July for an afternoon of connection with the power of collective sound. Together we will resonate with the earth’s energies through frame drumming and chant, exploring the rhythmical being within. We will take time to step away from external life and go inward, reuniting with our soul’s deep desire, to express, to explore to sing, move, and celebrate sound itself!
Benefits of Drumming
Reduces Tension, Anxiety, and Stress:
As an exercise, drumming releases hormones that are associated with feelings of well-being. The hormones help relieve stress and make you happy. Regardless of the drum that you use, whether a full set, conga, or djembe, the brain is set in a meditative mood as the hands and feet are in motion. Meditation provides mental relaxation. It helps the body control thoughts and calms the mind. The act induces a natural high due to the alpha waves generated by the brain while drumming.
Drumming releases negative feelings, blockages, and emotional trauma. Addicts could walk through their emotions through the act of drumming. It is a form of release that helps remove negative emotions that weigh down the body and cause depression. Research has shown that drumming can be used to treat health conditions like anxiety, PTSD symptoms, and aggression.
The session is facilitated by Marta from Nadabrahma Health Academy and Aoife Connors from Prajna Sound a sound healer, piano tutor, and psychology graduate. Marta and Aoife are currently facilitating Drumming and Sound Meditation classes in a clinical setting on a regular basis.
